I love to help customers feel better inside and out. For me, the service I offer is not just about looking good, it's about feeling good. When you leave my little therapy pod haven, my hope is that you will feel uplifted.
When I started in beauty therapy more than 25 years ago in Aberdeen, I had no idea the journey I would take. Fresh out of beauty college, I received appointment requests from clients I had served during my training at Aberdeen college. I offered a mobile beauty service which proved popular with them. The referrals grew, and soon after I setup a room in my flat as a little salon. Then it was on to a whole house set up as my home and salon. Overtime, this grew organically into taking on a commercial premises. At a young age I was now owner of an Elemis Spa with 10 employees.
You will find I am both an artist and a perfectionist of my craft, which I love to share and teach. This led to teaching Beauty Therapy at Aberdeen College and mentoring young business upstarts as part of The Prince's Trust Youth Business Scotland (formerly The Prince’s Scottish Youth Business Trust; PSYBT).
While I absolutely loved my clients, my business, my students and my mentees, the time came to focus on family. For our family, this included selling the Elemis Spa and moving to Edinburgh.
As my children grew, I took on part-time work supporting corporate customers by offering relaxing and rehabilitative services on-site for employees. At the same time, I had my little therapy pod installed in my garden and began serving customers there.
I now work full-time from my therapy pod. My clients love the privacy the pod offers and the natural surroundings. When I'm not serving clients you might find me making homemade aromatherapy candles or testing my recipes for natural skincare and bodycare products that I use for bespoke treatments.
You are also very likely to find me studying a new course. I am always on the lookout for the latest, greatest techniques and technologies to deliver beauty therapies that will enhance clients natural appearance and well-being without makeup and surgery.
Above all, the best part of my job is the connection I make with clients and being able to help them feel better inside and out with every visit.
